Accelerated Reader

 From September 2025, children in year 2-6 will be part of a new Accelerated Reader scheme. 

We will use Star Tests to gather information about your child's reading level, reading age and reading fluency. This will generate a ZPD (Zone of Proximinal Development) range where children can be guided to choose books that are perfectly matched to their reading ability. 

Children will take books home as regularly as they can to read at home as well as in school. Children will then have individual logins to complete quizzes on each book they have read. They can win points, track how many words they have read and work towards their individual reading targets. 

We hope this new system will really encourage a love of reading and motivate your children to read, read, read!
