We are very pleased to welcome both you and your child to Year 3. Miss Borley will be teaching the class this year and is eager to support the children as they grow and achieve their potential.
In Mathematics, we will be concentrating on building fluency in multiplication tables, while also strengthening children’s reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
In English, we will continue to promote a love of reading, with weekly visits to our well-resourced library. We also aim to inspire children as writers, encouraging creativity and imagination, while ensuring they develop confidence with spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Our broader curriculum offers a wide range of experiences, including art, music, scientific enquiry, exploration, and opportunities to learn in our fantastic outdoor spaces.
On Tuesday afternoons, the children will take part in a rotation of activities. One group will focus on art, another on outdoor learning, and the third will work with teachers on mathematics, English, and other engaging classroom-based tasks. These activities will change each half term, allowing every child to take part in each of the three focus areas twice during the school year.
