Welcome to Year 4

Mrs Goulty & Mrs Callan

The Year 4 team is made up of two experienced teachers. Mrs Goulty will be teaching Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs Callan will be teaching on Thursday and Friday. In Maths, our focus will be to know multiplication tables fluently and to develop reasoning and problem solving skills. In English we will continue to develop a love of reading and the children will have weekly opportunities to visit our well-stocked library. In Year 4, we aim to develop a passion for writing with children developing their creativity and flare whilst also consolidating spelling, punctuation and grammar objectives. Our non-core curriculum is highly varied with many opportunities for art, music, investigation, exploring and using our wonderful outdoor space. 

On Thursday mornings we will be splitting into 3 groups. One group will be doing art for the half term, one will be doing outdoor learning and one group will be working with teachers to complete maths and English work. This will be rotated every half term so each child will complete each group twice throughout the year.
